Syberia II still sports the same surreal atmosphere as the previous game, but it feels like it’s trying to tell the exact same story all over again just in a less interesting way this time, and the more I played, the more I grew confused as to why the protagonist was so invested in this whole affair.
Still, a pretty unique and usually overlooked gem that’s definitely worth picking up if you are into adventure games (but you should of course play the original first).
|Surprisingly well aged, beautiful visuals||Boring puzzles|
|Mysterious, surreal atmosphere||Feels a bit too much like a retread of the previous game|
|Well-written dialogue||The motivation of some characters, especially the protagonist are not well expressed|
|Interesting characters||Underwhelming ending that feels kind of incomplete|
