Monkey Island 2 will have you laughing from the getgo to the very end, but I’m afraid any semblance of narrative is lost under all that quirky humor. Still a thoroughly enjoyable ride all in all though.

Look forward to the 3rd game if you are planning to read it. I found it the best of the series personally. The humor and world is just so hilarious. A pirate I was meant to be, yarr harr, roam the seas.
