A witty take on a Necromancer’s job — no doubt inspired by The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy — that starts strong, but soon deteriorates into a collection of disjointed set-pieces and cartoon level moralization when the necromancer suddenly discovers that selling the souls of innocent people to Satan is *gasp* bad.
I couldn’t shake the feeling this was written as a plot to TV series or a game.
Positive: | Negative: |
Witty prose | Despite the wittiness, the overuse of adverbs feels a bit amateurish |
Likable characters | A collection of set-pieces rather than a coherent story |
Genuinely funny humor | Feels a lot like a saturday morning cartoon when is trying to be serious |
