[Novel] Stand on Zanzibar (John Brunner)

Stand on Zanzibar A speculative sci-fi book from the past depicting the perversions of the corporate future dystopia of 2010. It’s just astounding how many things John Brunner actually got right.

Positive: Negative:
A fascinating, profound setting of corporate dystopia Extremely confusing out of sequence storytelling full of digressions
Interesting, profound characters Personal stories of the characters pale in comparison to the depth of the world they are set in
Thought-provoking on human nature and culture
Thought-provoking on white-guilt, corporate social system, and freedom of the soul
