[Novel] On the Road (Jack Kerouac)

On the RoadA story about a bunch of irresponsible scumbags traveling throughout America, having parties and impregnating women on their way. Makes for a pretty interesting story, but whoever thinks the “philosophy” this book preaches is worth a dime should be smacked.

Positive: Negative:
Almost psychedelic, soothing atmosphere of jazz Preaches scumbagy philosophy
Despite being awful human beings, characters are actually interesting Some parts can come off as a bit dull
Interesting to see in what crazy place will the characters end up next
Illuminating on vagrancy, and another side of the 19th century American culture
