Being a second book in the series it lacks the initial wow factor of the original, but it’s still a beautifully written adventure of guile through some of the most exotic lands fantasy genre has to offer. Not to mention this time it’s about pirates!
|Fascinating, detailed setting which feels both exotic and familiar enough not to disappear behind the veil of surreality||Story, despite all the excitement and twists, feels pretty simplistic in retrospect|
Likable, profound characters
Engrossing suspenseful plot makes you constantly question what will happen next
Full of unpredictable twists
Full of well thought-out intricate schemes of guile and trickery
Genuinely funny humor
