[Novel] Valis (Philip K. Dick)

VALISWhile Valis might not be the most exciting or radical of Dick’s novels, it’s likely the one that’s best written. Decades of writing experience seep through the flowing, eloquent, snarky prose that makes even stuff like complete madman’s textbook-style reinterpretation of the Bible and laws of nature completely addicting to read.

Positive: Negative:
Eloquent, snarky prose The story kinda goes nowhere in the end
Mind-blowing, complex sci-fi setting (unless the narrator is just insane and most of it is his delusion)
Mysterious, immersing atmosphere
Fascinating, likable, interesting characters
Captivating plot makes you constantly question if strange things are really happening, or is the narrator just insane
Vast knowledge on Bible and related mythology
