Wow, there is so much hype behind Haruki Murakami that I was even afraid to read it, but, oh man, this guy delivers. A Wild Sheep Chase is a surreal mystery novel that mixes best tropes from English, Russian and Japanese novels into one cocktail of pure delight.
It hits so many high points I can’t even tell if it should belong to the best of literary or genre fiction.
