A fairly standard adventure through a huge if not particularly original world. Likable characters and well-written dialogue carries this game along, but I felt it lacked a bit of punch to the story to make itself truly memorable.
Positive: | Negative: |
Surprisingly endearing 2D sprites | Low quality artwork |
Fantastic OST | The world, while fleshed out and huge, just isn’t that fantastic or interesting |
Sense of adventure | Most of the good guy characters are painfully stereotypical and boring |
Interesting, likable, relatively profound characters (Estelle, Joshua, villains) | Lots of tedious town exploration and menial long-winded conversations dilute an otherwise interesting plot |
Very-well written dialogue | Recycles lots of content (damn towns) |
Relatively satisfying turn-based game-play |
