Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoyevsky)

Crime and PunishmentThis book is thought-provoking on so many levels I can’t even… Anyway, it’s good, alright? It’s basically a more profound version of Death Note with countless philosophical insights.

Positive: Negative:
Eloquent prose Can be a bit slow and tedious, especially during the surreal dream passages
Profound, interesting characters
Engrossing, suspenseful plot
Good, solid story
Gives insight into Russian culture (Victorian era)
Thought-provoking on vices of intelligence
Thought-provoking on inequality
Thought-provoking on conscience and empathy
