Broken Sword (Poul Anderson)

The Broken SwordIn a perfect world Tolkien would be obscure, and it  would be this book that is an inspiration for fantasy writers all around the world. A perfect balance between mysterious mythology and familiar fantasy tropes (only the good ones).

Positive: Negative:
Eloquent prose
Story is not exactly groundbreaking
Genuinely magical world
Good characters
Good fast pace
A few cool twists
Feels like an authentic tale instead of a D&D campaign
